L&T Infotech’s 1Step, a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, launched ‘E-Saathi’- a website that aims at using technology and employee volunteering efforts to connect NGO partners to the Digital world.
The website was inaugurated by Mr. Anand Mahajani (Head-Corporate Sustainability, L&T Infotech and Mrs. Sangeeta Bhagvat (Founder-Adharwad trust).
In his inaugural speech Mr. Anand Mahajani Stressed upon the importance of digitalization and how NGOs can take advantage of the same to spread awareness across to a wider range of people.
The first Website created through E-Saathi was for Adharwad, a non-profit organization working for the wellbeing of homeless senior citizens and women.
Founded by Mrs. Sangeeta Bhagwat, the organization has catered to more than 700 homeless senior citizens by providing essential residential and medical care.
The inaugural speech was followed by the demonstration of the website by Mr. Abdul Wajid, volunteer 1step Mahape, who developed the website. He walked through the various sections of the Website and how it can be used to reach out to a wider audience and how philanthropic people across the world can use the site to provide support to the NGO.
The website was even tested on a mobile, as a part of the demonstration.
The Session Ended with a ‘call for usage’ by Neha Sane, (Corporate Social Responsibility-Mahape), who requested the volunteers to spread awareness through the website amongst their colleagues and friends within L&T and outside.
The Senior Citizens Expressed their gratitude to the 1step team for their continuous efforts.
